Gender: Female
Age: 17
Alignment: Lawful Good
Home World: Mysterous Tower
Current World: Destiny Islands (main)
Appearance:
Her physique is incredibly dainty; her muscles are wiry yet she commands a strength demanded of any martial skill. She wears her brunette hair in long pigtails, with a blue headband in her hair. Her bangs are parted to stay out of her eyes, yet she'll often let long strands of hair frame her face. She wears red rimmed oval glasses; plastic rims, and light lenses, however this also means that her blue eyes are incredibly bad for eyesight on their own and are sensitive to strong sources of light. She bears small shoulders, long arms and small hands. Her frame is a pear shape; a small chest, thin waist, and wider hips. She has thin legs, accented by knobbly knees and large feet. She wears a white button-up blouse, and a dark green tie worn loosely around her neck. Her skirt is dark red and green plaid, and she wears black stockings with black slipon shoes. She usually looks very neat and kept.
Alternative Appearance: When Eri goes to Atlantica, her appearance changes into that of a flying fish. Her scales are a shimmering silver with blue, yellow and magenta pink hues. She has extra trasnparent fins on her back that act like wings which allow her to swim faster than any normal fish in the water, and even over the water.
Personality:
Aloof: Eri is a very relaxed young woman. She is so relaxed that it can be a problem at times. Many times her assignments were met with less worry than other kids, which resulted in her feeling confident that she would pass her tests, regardless of if she studied or not. From this relaxed state, Eri has a confident aura; she is outgoing and doesn't worry too terribly much about other people's opinion. unless those opinions clash too badly in which she will always argue her case.
Pride: She is both protective and defensive of others, but most of all, herself. This causes her to be argumentative and confronational. Her pride is her biggest problem, as well as her grudge towards those she feels have done her wrong. This also gets in the way when taking orders. She has such pride in her status and who she is she sometimes forgets she is not the one in charge (IF she is not the one in charge). Oftentimes she will think that she could do a better job at something than someone else. This is what makes her so judgemental of others.
Naive/Immature: She is naive to a fault, as she hasn't that much world experience, and has never had to feel heartache or pain (except for when Yen Sid failed her in the Mark of Mastery Exam); not even in any romantic interests. Her lack of experience with people and the world causes her to become emotional at times when dealing with straneous situations and will appear as if she is incapable of handling things.
Caring: Eri has a kind and caring personality. She is generous and compassionate. She opens up to people she trusts, which is generally anyone who stays on her good side. She is also a determined type who will never back down, even if a situation seems impossible. Eri also has this habit of taunting her opponents and her humor is very dry. This also is in hand with her extremely aloof nature, which can be frustrating for others who are less relaxed about life. However she is not ingnorant enough to completely disregard tradition and takes things seriously whenever she has to and when the situation calls for it. She possesses a strong sense of justice and an unrelenting heart.
Despite her slightly selfish habits, she always looks towards the light and sees positive view in the worst of things.
Background:
Eri Sid is the Granddaughter of Yen Sid. Her father had left long before her birth and her mother had died during childbirth. Yen Sid took her in out of all the love he possessed for his only daughter, and now grand daughter.
From birth, Eri's life hasn't been very ordinary. As a welcoming present Yen Sid gave Eri a Wayfinder Charm. She was constantly surrounded by her grandfather's magic and spell books. Despite his grim appearance and strict personality, he was a very caring and loving man, but for such a busy wizard and former Keyblade master as Yen Sid, even he couldn't keep constant watch over the toddler. He used his magic to have inanimate objects come to life to look after her and play with her in his tower. Eri knew not to bother her grandfather when he was busy and when he was teaching other apprentices which came about every now and again. And it was not as if she was not allowed to go outside. She took pleasure in the Tower's country side, but one thing she did know, as her grandfather had always taught her, was to stay away from the train which lead to the other world which was connected to the Mysterious Tower. Many times, when Yen Sid was not busy, he would take her to the best place to star gaze. There he would try to teach her about the stars and how they tell you about the worlds and the people in them, and how they also help in telling the past and the future. This intrigued Eri a lot, and she tried to learn as much as she could, but it was a tad bit tedious, and she didn't learn a great deal as Yen Sid had. Besides, she only really liked Star gazing.
Growing up, she always showed signs for having interest in magic. Especially whenever she ever heard mention of the Relic of Lost Memories from her grandfather. One of her hobbies to kill time, since there were not many games to play in the Tower, was reading all the interesting books Yen Sid possessed. Even though there was a forbidden silence where she could not read her grandfather's personal library, one day, she asked him about the books, and seeing her eager curiosity about the ways of magic and pure and innocent heart, decided to make his grand daughter into his apprentice. As a beginning apprentice gift, he gave her a Star Shard. With it, he said, and with time, she would come to learn how to travel the worlds. But until then, she must take good care of it, and try to not use it.
It started with a Star Shard. And then a Keyblade. Eri watched in awe as the magic key appeared in her grandfather's hands out of nowhere. He spoke of training and one day coming to understand what all of this meant. He said because she held such a special place in his heart, because of their special bond, she would one day learn to weird a keyblade herself. He asked her to place her hand on the keyblade, and doing so, she felt the magic enter her body. For the first time in her life, she saw her grand father smile. Though for reasons she didn't understand, it made her feel so sad....
Years of training and going to school and finally came the day of the Mark of Mastery exam. She failed the exam, and in an outrage, she claimed her grand father to have been unfair. She claimed he failed her because he was trying to protect her specifically because they were related. She was too self absorbed about her feelings and hurt ego to realize that it was because of her own pride. As much of a nice person she was, she would not risk her own skin. She left her home and her grand father with tears in her eyes. In her mind, she had every right to be a Keyblade Master. She was strong enough, wasn't she? Then why...?
Eri realized, after some traveling, that she had failed the Exam because of herself. It was only her own fault. Eri needed to work on herself and her selfish tendencies. She needed to become self-less, to be willing to risk her own skin to save the life of another. She wanted to better herself before she faced her grandfather again. Before she went back to apologize. Eri felt guilty, but she couldn't go back just yet. Eri Sid took on a different name as she traveled so that nobody would know she was related to the great Yen Sid himself. She figured that it might cause some controversy, or people might purposely take it easy on her because of that fact. She decided to go by Gwendolyn or "Gwen" for short.
For a while, she traveled, but then ended up in the mainland of Destiny Islands. She formed a life there, and even went to school like a normal person. She maintained this life for about a year. Realizing that there was much darkness in the world, and that she needed to do something about it, she decided that her goal in life would be not only to become a Keyblade Master, but to cast away the shadows of darkness into oblivion and preserve life by protecting the innocent. One day, she decided to form a group with the same goals as herself.
