Gwen looked at Xenoheld with a puzzled expression on her face. Then she looked at the heartless. She lifted her keyblade and brought it down on another shadow. Then she looked at Xenoheld once more. He had a point, they did seem to be holding back, but why? What for? There must be a reason.
"I don't know," she said, "what reason do they have for holding back? Maybe you shouldn't start coming to such conclusions. After all, the battle has just begun, am I right? Unless.... you are right. Unless this is just a distraction?"
Gwen reared her head back to look at the Temple. What if it was a distraction? There didn't seem to be much of a fight. Maybe it was all just a distraction to get to what they really wanted.

Xenoheld looked around, but the temple had been left untouched. What was it they wanted? Were they there to distract from the real danger to come? Xenoheld thought he shouldn't have said that. Just as soon as he thought it, a giant heartless appeared. (The dragon from KH2 when you fight it the 2nd time in this world, only it'll have darker colors)
"Crap" Xenoheld said aloud. All the heartless that had appeared, were defeated by the two. It was a decoy, to get them to be tired out by the weak heartless for the giant guy to show up.
"What are we going to do?" He asked Gwen, jumping back, landing next to her.

Gwen froze as she suddenly felt the jump in darkness. There was a deathly silence for a brief moment that made the hair on the back of her neck stand. What in the worlds was that feeling she just felt? Just as she asked herself that, a large dragon heartless appeared before the two of them. Gwen's face went from surprised, to serious as she put on her game face.
Xenoheld asked what they were going to do. Gwen smirked at him. She didn't feel tired at all. Not the slightest bit. The heartless that they had killed had been a very brief warm up. In fact, she had even felt slight disappointment. When the dragon heartless appeared, she couldn't have been more excited.
"What are we going to do?" she repeated his question and then followed up with an answer, "I'll tell you what we're going to do. The only thing we can do. Fight!"
Gwendolyn aimed her meteor keyblade at the heartless and fire began charging from it. She released the energy, sending a fireball hurling at it. It hit the side of it's head and Gwen ran at an angle to the right towards it. She jumped high in the air and slashed down her keyblade at it once, thrice, three times. Horizontally, vertically, crisscross. Before kicking it and jumping off of it in a back flip and landing lithely on her own two feet. But just as she landed the heartless slashed at her. She did not have enough time to recover, having just landed, and she was thrown back several yards.
"Agh!"

Xenoheld rubbed his chin, trying to think of a quick plan to attack the heartless. He stopped thinking and gripped his keyblade tightly. He jumped off of the rocks near by and landed on the heartless's back. He grabbed onto one of its horns and held on tightly as it started to shoot of electrical surges around the land. The heartless that were there all swarmed into one spot and were taken into the large heartless's mouth. It appeared to have changed in color as it went from a darker shade to having 4 horns, another mouth on its chest, and its wings grew larger. "Crap" Xenoheld muttered to himself. He didn't know how to handle a heartless like this. But theres a first time for everything. He continued to hang on as he took his keyblade and tried to stab its head. However it didn't work and he was then thrown off of its head, landing next to a boulder.

Gwen rolled on the ground and finally skidded to a stop. She groaned in pain and forced herself on hands and knees. She looked up to see Xenoheld on his head, trying to get a good hit at them. Gwen shook her head. That wont work. It seems as if physical attacks only do so much. And then she saw something that really sparked a good idea. The dragon heartless ate other heartless to become stronger. If they could stop him from doing that, they might be able to defeat the dragon.
"This can't be good...."
Gwen fully got up and didn't even care about wiping herself clean. She cupped a hand around her mouth and shouted at her comrade, "Xenoheld! Get him to open his mouth towards me! I think have an idea!"
She might even have to get dangerously close, such as, nearly getting swallowed dangerous. Then she would attack him from the inside. It was their best bet at winning. Gwendolyn ran around the Dragon, trying to find a good position.

Xenoheld jumped away from the heartless, holding his keyblade close. He looked at Gwen when she asked him to do what she wanted. "W-what?" He thought. He ignored the thought and looked around. The heartless was coming at him now and he had to make this plan of hers work. He used his keyblade as a way to make him jump up. He then landed on the dragons head again, this time using the keyblade to help hang on to the two horns near the front of his head. He then directed it, somehow, towards Gwen.
"Now Gwen!" He shouted to her. He jumped off of it and landed next to her, ready to help in this. The dragon had its mouth wide open as it came towards them.

Gwen stands perfectly upright and holds her keyblade horizontally to the ground with her free hand on the hilt. An aura of magic enclosed Gwen and suddenly, her clothes were replaced with a blue and black tight body suit, with blue flames on the arms and legs. Gwen glides forward against the ground, a blue magical mist surrounding Gwen's feet that turns into two light blue wisps, one rising from each foot when Gwen slides across landscape. Gwen gets nearer and nearer to the Dragon Heartless until finally, the heartless charges forward as if about to swallow Gwen whole. She aims her keyblade at the heartless and charges a Fira spell.
As soon as she is only several feet away she releases it, the fireball going straight into it's mouth. Then she concentrates wind magic around herself. A circular wind barrier surrounds Gwen as she enters its mouth. The heartless snaps his mouth closed immediately. The wind magic then courses throughout the entirety of the heartless' inner body and roars. As he roars, Gwen flies from the heartless' mouth and hits the ground hard on her back. She skids several feet before finally coming to a stop. Her eyes are shut tightly and her face is contorted in pain. She appears to be unconscious.

Xenoheld watched what jus happened, with amazement in his eyes. The dragon faded into darkness, the dark cloud that loomed over them, now gone.
"Way to go-" He said, but soon stopped as he noticed Gwen was unconscious. He ran over to her and grabbed hold of her before she would soon fall. "Gwen?" He called out to her, trying to wake her up.

Gwen groaned as she opened her eyes to see a blurry image of Xenoheld holding her. Maybe hitting the ground was all in her head. Xenoheld had actually caught Gwen. He was a full grown man and she was just a girl, so she must have been easy to catch for him. At that moment, her Drive form dispersed and she could be seen back in the red chinese dress she wore. Her hair was no longer in a bun and it was long, brown, and slightly wild and tangled.
"Did we win...?"

Xenoheld looked down at her as he carried her, walking towards the temple. The army from the temple followed shortly behind them.
"Yes, surprisingly, we did win the battle" He said. "But just because we liberated Land of Dragons this time doesn't mean we will be able to next time, so we should go to the next world and see if we can find what keeps the key hole locked in the next world"
He looked up, the sun was beginning to set as they were getting closer to the temple.

The light of the setting sun reflected off of her glasses. It made her skin shine a light golden color. Her blue eyes looked a lot lighter than usual, too. There was also relief on her face. She was very happy to have won the battle. It always felt good to defeat the heartless from causing possible destruction and chaos. How long had they been fighting for? It really didn't feel like it had been that long at all. Or maybe it was the heat of the battle that made it seem this way. "I'm glad," She said, "You were wonderful out there, Xenoheld. We make a good team, don't you think?" Gwen smiled up at him weakly. She was very tired.

Xenoheld chuckled lightly as they were now at the foot of the temple. "Yea, i'd say so" He said. "Thanks for recruiting me, i think it was by chance that you came here and we fought together" He was into the superstition type stuff. So he believed it was fate that caused anything that happened to the worlds. But it was his job to change the fate of darkness and bring in the light, with whoever he could have help from.

Gwen smiled as Xenoheld walked up the steps to the temple.
"I don't think so," She said, "I don't think anything happens by chance, especially me recruiting you. Everything happens for a reason, at least, that's what my grandfather always said. I think I'm okay to walk now."
Her strength was back and she was no longer disoriented. When Xenoheld put her down she smiled at him and continued to walk up the steps where the Emperor of China was waiting for the two and his General.

Xenoheld followed behind Gwen and the General to the room of the emperor. He immediately went down on one leg and bowed to the emperor.
"Sir, we finished the job, and we got rid of the threat" He said to him. "What do you need me to do now?" He wondered if he'd give them permission to take flight on the Gummi Ship that Xenoheld had used to travel there. But it was currently being rebuilt so it may be awhile before they could take it. Maybe Gwen had another way. Maybe one of the mysterious Key Riders he had heard so much about. He waited to see what the emperor had in mind.

When Gwen reached the Emperor, she had forgotten to bow. She stood there, smiling at the wise old man, until Xenoheld bowed himself, as well as the Emperor's General. She did a quick double take before remembering she needed to bow herself. She went down on one knee, just as Xenoheld had done.
There was silence as the Emperor rose from his throne and walked down the steps, taking his time. He was the Emperor. He was allowed to do that. To walk down the steps as slowly as possible with his chin held high. Gwen respected the man, but she was beginning to think he was getting a bit too old. It was a good thing Emperors had heirs. But he only had daughters, so who would be the heir. Gwen shook her head slightly. She was thinking too much.
There was a hush as the Emperor began to speak.
"Xenoheld. You have served me in my army honorably in your quest to preserve this peaceful kingdom. But now I believe it is time for you to go. With great power comes great responsibility, and you have a great responsibility on your shoulders by having the power that you do. As a Keyblade warrior, you have served this world, but you must also serve others, as well. That is why I am allowing you to leave, as an honorable discharge."
Gwen smiled under her bowed position. She was glad that the Emperor had listened to her after all. Having gone to the Emperor previously, she had asked if he would allow Xenoheld to be discharged with honor as he had bravely served under his army to fight those fearsome dark creatures. It took some convincing, but she was glad that the Emperor had finally seen the light in the end. It must have been because of his most recent deed, which was the one that they had just accomplished.
